NYP SELECTS THREE YOUNG PEOPLE AS OBSERVERS IN LOCAL COUNCIL’S SITTINGS

As part of the National Youth Parliament-The Gambia (NYP) and Gambia Association of Local Government Authorities’ (GALGA) project focused on “Enhancing Transparency and Citizens’ Participation in Local Governance,” three young individuals have been selected to monitor and report on local council meetings and projects that affect taxpayers. The chosen observers are Sarata Ceesay for the West Coast Region (WCR), Amie Daffeh for the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), and Muhammed K Fatty for the Mansakonko Area Council respectively.

These three observers monitor local council’s meetings, project implementation and any other activities meant for taxpayers. This initiative aims to improve transparency and encourage taxpayer participation in their respective councils.
